You Got Gunked… WHOA was one installment of quarterly performances by the TBD ensemble at Northwestern University. Inspired by the Neofuturist form, TBD performances showcase a collection of short plays written by the present ensemble, performed in a random order as dictated by each performance’s audience. The plays themselves span anywhere from five seconds to five minutes, with rejecting suspension of disbelief as the sole artistic parameter: at all times during a TBD performance, the ensemble members are presented as themselves, in their present moment, with their present surroundings. TBD performances are often wacky, introspective, hectic, and incredibly human. For this particular performance as a part of the TBD ensemble, Lila wrote plays that tested the audience’s sense of responsibility for the performers’ wellbeing under annonymous circumstances.
